KPI Widgets
Display key performance indicators prominently on your dashboard.
Overview
KPI Widgets let you highlight your most important metrics in large, easy-to-read displays on your dashboard. Instead of scanning through tables and graphs, you can see critical numbers at a glance.
Adding KPI Widgets to Your Dashboard
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Click Add a widget or the dashboard customization option
- Look for KPI Widgets in the widget categories
- Select the KPI you want to display
- The widget will be added to your dashboard
You can drag and rearrange KPI widgets to organize your dashboard layout.
Available KPI Widgets
Traffic Metrics
- Visits — Total number of sessions
- Unique Visitors — Individual people who visited
- Pageviews — Total pages viewed
- Unique Pageviews — Sessions that included a page view
- Actions per Visit — Average interactions per session
Engagement Metrics
- Average Time on Site — How long visitors stay
- Bounce Rate — Percentage of single-page visits
- Max Actions — Highest number of actions in a single visit
- Returning Visitors — Visitors who came back
- Unique Returning Visitors — Individual returning visitors
Conversion Metrics
- Conversions — Total goal completions
- Conversion Rate — Percentage of visits that converted
- Revenue — Total goal revenue (if configured)
Content Metrics
- Downloads — Total file downloads
- Unique Downloads — Sessions with downloads
- Outlinks — Clicks to external websites
- Unique Outlinks — Sessions with outlink clicks
- Searches — Internal site searches
Search Metrics
- Keywords — Search keywords (when available)
User Metrics
- Unique Users — Individual logged-in users (if user ID tracking is configured)
- Returning Users — Users who returned
Using KPI Widgets Effectively
Choose Metrics That Matter
Don’t add every available KPI. Focus on the metrics that:
- Align with your organization’s goals
- Inform decisions you make regularly
- Indicate the health of your website

- Visits

For Content Teams:
- Pageviews
- Average Time on Site
- Bounce Rate
For Executive Dashboards:

Create Focused Dashboards
Consider using the Secondary Dashboard feature to create different views:
- Main Dashboard — High-level KPIs for daily monitoring
- Secondary Dashboard — Detailed metrics for specific analysis
KPI Widget Display
Each KPI widget shows:
- Current value — The metric for your selected date range
- Comparison — Change from the previous period (if enabled)
- Trend indicator — Up or down arrow showing direction
Customizing Date Ranges
KPI widgets respect your dashboard’s date range selection. Change the date range in the horizontal menu to update all widgets.
